Michael W. Clay, the Facilities Coordinator at Dudley DeBosier, is a Baton Rouge native with an impressive array of academic credentials and professional experiences.

Michael’s academic journey includes several certifications. He became a Certified Instrument & Electrical Technician through ITI in 1988, showcasing his technical skills and expertise. In 2006, he added a certification in Web Design and Database Management through the LSU Continuing Education CRT Program. More recently, in 2019, Michael achieved the title of Certified Maintenance Manager through AFE Engineering, further highlighting his commitment to excellence in his field.

During his school years, Michael was actively involved in JROTC, where he even held the position of Battalion Commander, demonstrating his leadership skills and dedication to his education.

Before joining the Dudley DeBosier team in 2023, Michael gained significant professional experience as a Facilities Manager overseeing 19 schools in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. His journey in the field of maintenance and facilities began at a young age, around the age of 10.

Throughout his career, Michael has received numerous special rewards and recognitions, including the Marine of the Quarter award in 1977 and 1978, the Distinguished Contractor’s Award from GE Plastics in 1997, and the Bret Morrison Award from the CRT Program in 2006. In 2008, he was ordained as a Deacon at Mount Bethel Baptist Church, reflecting his commitment to both his community and his faith. He also received the Eagle Award from Aramark Corp. in 2015 and the Star Award from Aramark Corp. in 2018.

Beyond his professional life, Michael enjoys a variety of hobbies, including fishing, grilling, and woodworking, reflecting his diverse interests and skills.

Michael’s favorite quote is, “You never have time to do it right, but you always have time to do it over,” by his father and Marine Corps General John Bergman.
