Attorney

Julie Payne Johnson, a proud Shreveport, Louisiana native, has brought her dedication and legal expertise to the Dudley DeBosier team.

Julie graduated with a degree in Journalism and History from The University of Texas at Austin in 2001. She received several awards at UT, including the Julia Jeffress Excellence Award in 2001 for her work as Associate Managing Editor of The Daily Texan student newspaper, the A.W. Belo Corporation Scholarship, and the Jesse H. Jones Centennial Scholarship. She also participated in two honors programs: the Senior Fellows Program in the College of Communication and the Normandy Scholar Program in the College of Liberal Arts.

Julie graduated magna cum laude from Tulane Law School in 2004. Upon admission to Tulane, she was named the Wiener, Weiss & Madison Law Firm Scholar and awarded a competitive, merit-based full scholarship to the law school. During her time at Tulane, she was Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review and received the Robert E. Friedman Award for the best student publication in 2004. She was also selected to be a legal research and writing fellow, serving as a teaching assistant for a class of first-year law students.

Julie’s legal career began in 2004 as a judicial clerk. Following her clerkship, she worked for two years as an attorney at a large defense firm in Dallas, Texas. In 2007, she returned to Shreveport to practice personal injury law with her father in a local boutique law firm. She became a partner at that firm and gained more than 15 years of experience championing the rights of seriously injured people and their families.

Julie is an active member of the Louisiana Association for Justice and the Shreveport Bar Association. Julie was a member of the Shreveport Bar Foundation board of directors from 2007 to 2011. She also held leadership positions as secretary, treasurer, and vice president of the North Louisiana Chapter of the Federal Bar Association from 2009 to 2011.

In 2023, Julie embarked on a new journey, joining the Dudley DeBosier team. Beyond her professional life, Julie enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling with her husband and two children.

Julie’s love for investigative work and writing has been a guiding force throughout her legal career. For Julie, the most rewarding part of being an attorney is helping her clients tell their stories. When injured people stand up and receive justice, they help prevent others from suffering the same fate. Julie and her team love working at Dudley DeBosier because they know that their clients are heroes who help make the world a safer place.
