About Drake

Drake Brignac, or “Brig” as his family calls him, lived in four states by the age of 10 but has always considered Louisiana his true home. Born in Baton Rouge, he returned to his hometown to attend Catholic High School and has remained in the Pelican State ever since.

Drake is a proud alumnus of Louisiana State University and the Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College, which named him a Stamps Scholar and awarded him LSU’s top merit-based scholarship. He graduated summa cum laude in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and a Bachelor of Arts in political science.

Drake went on to receive his J.D./D.C.L. from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2025. He served on the Student Bar Association for two years and was an active member of the Board of Advocates. Drake was a runner-up in the 2025 Client Legal Interviewing & Counseling Competition, a semifinalist in the 2023 Robert L. Tullis Moot Court Competition, and named Best Oral Advocate, Third Place at the 2024 Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition in Seattle, Washington. Drake also received CALI Awards for Excellence in Comparative Constitutional Law, Administration of Criminal Justice II, and Comparative Criminal Legal Systems.

As an undergraduate, Drake interned at the East Baton Rouge Parish Office of the Public Defender, where he stood out by reviewing hundreds of open cases to facilitate dismissals following allegations of misconduct within the BRPD Narcotics Division. During law school, Drake joined Dudley DeBosier as a law clerk and continued at the firm after passing the Louisiana Bar Exam.

Drake has also been recognized as a 2018 Catholic High School Man of the Year, a Louisiana delegate to the 2018 United States Senate Youth Program, and a Presiding Officer at the 2019 YMCA Conference on National Affairs.

Drake is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association. He resides in New Orleans and enjoys cooking, being by the water, and studying French.
