Summer Bluford is from Monroe, Louisiana. She obtained her undergraduate degree in pre-law/legal studies from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where she graduated cum laude in 2003. Summer then went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center, graduating cum laude in 2007. While in law school, she served as a student attorney in the Southern University Criminal Law Clinic, assisting indigent clients. She also clerked for the Office of the Louisiana Attorney General in the Civil Rights, Road Hazards, and General Litigation divisions.
Summer was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in October 2007. She is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. Prior to joining Dudley DeBosier, Summer gained experience as a law clerk in the 4th Judicial District Court in Louisiana. She also worked in the Caddo Parish Public Defender’s Office/Juvenile Court (1st Judicial District) before entering into private practice in the areas of criminal defense, child in need of care, personal injury, and successions.
Since joining the Dudley DeBosier team, Summer focuses primarily on auto collisions, personal injury, and Social Security Disability claims. She is dedicated to helping her clients every step of the way. Creating lasting relationships with her clients is important to Summer, and she works hard to ensure they receive the compensation they deserve.
Summer is actively involved in the Shreveport-Bossier community and is a member of the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier. She was selected as one of the top attorneys in the Shreveport-Bossier area by an SB Magazine lawyer’s poll in 2010, 2011, and 2012. Summer has twice been recognized by Access to Justice, an initiative of the U.S. Department of Justice, for her work. She received an Award of Excellence for Private Attorney Involvement and another Award of Excellence for Children in Need of Care.
