Congratulations to Our 2018 #DoRight4LA Winner
Lumberjack Animal Rescue
The votes are in, and we’re thrilled to announce Lumberjack Animal Rescue as the winner of $5,000 and this year’s #DoRight4LA contest! Located in Springhill, Louisiana, Lumberjack Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of abused and abandoned animals. Their no-kill shelter provides homes, food, and medical care to neglected animals throughout Springhill and the surrounding areas.
The devoted volunteers at Lumberjack Animal Rescue work to save as many animals as possible, which often results in overflow into their own homes and financial contributions from their own pockets. “That’s why this money is such a godsend to us,” says founder Justin Thomas. Lumberjack plans to use their winnings to help pay their extensive vet bills, purchase food, and make improvements and repairs throughout their facility.
To date, Lumberjack Animal Rescue has rescued, vetted, provided medical care for, and transported or adopted more than 3,200 dogs and puppies. Thank you for all the work you do to improve the lives of animals in Louisiana, and congratulations on being our 2018 #DoRight4LA winner!

On May 9th, 2018, we partnered with the New Orleans Saints to host #DoRight4LA Day, where our staff volunteered alongside members of the team—and the winning #DoRight4LA nominee—to make a positive impact in our community.
We spent the day at the NFL Youth Education and Training Center (NFL-YET), located at the Southeast Louisiana Boys and Girls Club, painting walls and cabinets, pressure washing the outside of the building, bringing in new furniture, and planting a garden. We also surprised the kids who attend NFL-YET’s after school program with a visit from some of the Saints players!
What does the winner get?
Voting is now closed. The nominee with the most votes receives $5000 for the cause of their choice to support the good work they do in Louisiana.
