March 31st, 2017
In support of state law enforcement, Dudley DeBosier was honored to sponsor and attend Baton Rouge’s first annual Beyond the Badge awards ceremony on March 21, 2017.
The ceremony was held to recognize outstanding police officers across the state who have performed extraordinary acts of kindness. The Beyond the Badge Heart of Law Enforcement Award was given to 11 officers.
The event was put on entirely by volunteers and organized by Baton Rouge resident, Linda Hull, whose vision for the event began in 2015. Hull organized the award ceremony to honor police officers who go beyond the call of duty and to make the public aware of the officers’ kind acts and generosity.
The acts of kindness varied from loaning a personal vehicle to a citizen, to cooking Thanksgiving dinner for over 60 people. The stories shared at this event were inspiring and we were thrilled to be a part of it.
With over 150 attendees, including Governor Edwards, Lt. Governor Nungesser and Coach Ed Orgeron, the event was a huge success. At Dudley DeBosier, we love to sponsor events such as this one, because we are passionate about making a positive difference in our community.
Nominations for this award can be made throughout the year by the general public and law enforcement agencies. To nominate an officer who has gone above and beyond the call of duty, visit Beyond the Badge Louisiana online www.beyondthebadgelouisiana.org
