HOPE Ministries Toy Drive
November – December 2011 – We’re collecting toys for the HOPE Ministries “Toys for Hope” Drive this holiday season. The organization gives away around 300 toys every holiday season, and we’re glad to be a part of their work.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s
October 2011 – We participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, Oct. 15 in Covington. We had more than 40 team members and raised almost $7,000 for the event, and a total of $47,130 was raised for the cause!
Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive
July 2011 – We collected school supplies and donations during the Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive to support the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.
March of Dimes March for Babies
March 2011 – We participated in the March of Dimes March for Babies to help raise funds and awareness for community programs that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies.
Annual Dudley DeBosier Crawfish Boil
April 2011 – We held our annual crawfish boil and Easter egg hunt at our Baton Rouge office.
Howell Park Elementary School's Career Day
April 2011 – We had a great time at Howell Park Elementary School’s Career Day. We spoke to students about our law firm and what it’s like being attorneys and helping the community.
16th Annual Women Chefs’Show Off
March 2011 – We attended the 16th Annual Women Chefs' Show Off to benefit the Capital Area Family Violence Intervention Center, Inc.
BISCIS Baseball League
March 2011 – Thanks to Touro Infirmary for starting the BISCIS Baseball League! BISCIS stands for Brain Injury Spinal Cord Injury Services. Thanks also to the occupational therapists and those from our firm for volunteering your time and equipment to the league.
Krewe of Mutts Mardi Gras Dog Parade
March 2011 – We participated in the Krewe of Mutts Mardi Gras Dog Parade to support the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS).
2011 Baton Rouge Race for the Cure
Dudley DeBosier was a proud supporter of the 2011 Baton Rouge Race for the Cure. The firm’s team, Legally Pink, had 70 participants and raised more than $800 to help fund breast cancer research. The 5K race/fitness walk, which took place on Saturday, February 19, 2011, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease. Louisiana Regional Chili Cook-off
Our law firm is looking forward to participating in the fifth annual Louisiana Regional Chili Cook-off on Saturday, March 26. Catholic Radio 1380 and the Knights of Columbus are sponsoring this event, which will benefit the children at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital—the second largest children's hospital in Louisiana. Last year alone, Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital helped 70,000 children.

EveryBody Reads
Several volunteers from the firm are participating in EveryBody Reads, an ongoing program that provides individualized reading assistance to second and third graders in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. Volunteers providing one-on-one reading tutorial assistance are called “Reading Friends,” and they commit to work with children who are reading below grade level.

Baton Rouge Bar Association's 2010 Holiday Star Project
November 2010 – More than 20 employees participated in this year's Holiday Star Project sponsored by the Baton Rouge Bar Association. The Holiday Star Project has successfully provided more than 11,000 children with gifts and clothes since its inception.
A Walk/Run to Remember
Dudley DeBosier supported Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area through a Walk/Run To Remember on October 9, and our team raised more than $2,000 for the event! The nonprofit organization provides programs and services to the 10 parishes in the Greater Baton Rouge area. See more photos.
Pennies for the Girls
We’ve started a team called Legally Pink as part of Susan G. Komen for the Cure to raise money to help those affected by breast cancer! Our first fundraiser is called Pennies for the Girls, and we’re trying to fill a water jug with as much money as possible.

Mary Kay Fundraiser to Benefit Career Compass
We raised $300 during our Mary Kay Fundraiser to benefit the Career Compass program at area schools. The firm matched the funds raised, so we donated a total of $600! The Career Compass program is dedicated to helping disadvantaged students realize their dreams of obtaining post-secondary training, works to match students’ passions with their capabilities, and points them in the right direction by exposing them to the schools that offer obtainable degrees and certifications.

Capital Area United Way Jambalaya Jam "Cook-Off"
Join us on Thursday, September 23 for the 2010 Capital Area United Way Jambalaya Jam “Cook-Off,” where we’ll be joining other local competitors to see whose jambalaya reigns supreme.

May 14, 2010 - Several attorneys from our law firm visited Howell Park Elementary School during Career Day and encouraged students to work hard, stay in school, and actively pursue their dreams and future careers.
March of Dimes’ March for Babies
April 24, 2010 - Members of Dudley DeBosier participated in March for Babies to benefit March of Dimes on April 24, 2010. The walk raises funds and awareness for babies born prematurely and supports community programs that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies.
Oaks Kiwanis Club of Baton Rouge Chili Cook-Off
March 2010 - We donated funds and our culinary skills to the Baton Rouge Chili Cook-Off sponsored by the Oaks Kiwanis Club of Baton Rouge and the Volunteers of America. Sanctioned by the International Chili Society, the cook-off judged contestants on their red chili, chili verde, and salsa creations. All funds from the event benefited local hospitals.
Capital Area Animal Welfare Society’s 11th Annual Crewe of Mutts Parade
January 31, 2010 - The members of the firm helped sponsor the 2010 CAAWS 11th Annual Crewe of Mutts Parade hosted by the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society. Dogs and their owners strolled along North Boulevard in the Mardi Gras-inspired parade, which is CAAWS’s largest fundraiser and benefits its outreach spay/neuter program.

November 16, 2009 - We took part in the Louisiana Governor’s Safety & Health Conference, which brought together the latest in health and safety information, products, and experts.

The Advocate’s Newspapers In Education Program
Since 2003, we’ve sponsored The Advocate’s Newspapers in Education program, which provides free newspapers to area schools to help make teaching and learning more exciting, challenging, and relevant to students of any grade level.
Alzheimer’s Association
The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support, and research. It strives to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
American Cancer Society Relay For Life
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life celebrates the lives of people who have battled cancer, remembers loved ones lost, and fights against the disease. Although the main objective of Relay is to raise money for cancer research and cancer patients, the event is held to spread cancer awareness, celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost their lives to cancer, and unite communities in the fight against cancer.
Baton Rouge Bar Association’s Thirst for Justice
Several of the firm’s attorneys join other local lawyers throughout the year to provide free legal advice to community members as part of the Baton Rouge Bar Association’s Thirst for Justice program.
Baton Rouge Safety Council
The firm supports the Baton Rouge Safety Council and its mission to improve safety in the workplace, community, and home. The Council also helps present the Louisiana Governor's Safety & Health Conference. Several members of the firm work with other community members to promote awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving. They help sponsor local community barbecues and entertainment as well.
Battered Women’s Program
We’re proud to support the Battered Women’s Program, which is sponsored by the Capital Area Family Violence Intervention Center and works to end domestic violence and provide resources to victims of family violence. In fact, we raised $1,362 for the organization during our garage sale on June 5, 2010.
Capital Area Animal Welfare Society
The Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS) is a private, all volunteer nonprofit organization devoted to the prevention of animal suffering and animal overpopulation.
Downtown Business Association
Members of the firm assist with the Downtown Business Association (DBA)’s litter patrol committee and help control litter around the Baton Rouge Area. The DBA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the growth and success of downtown Baton Rouge and works closely with the public Downtown Development District.
East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office
We proudly support local law enforcement by donating to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Oaks Kiwanis Club of Baton Rouge
The members of the Oaks Kiwanis Club of Baton Rouge work to develop future generations of leaders. Every day, Kiwanians are revitalizing local neighborhoods, organizing youth-sports programs, tutoring, building playgrounds, and performing countless other projects to help children and communities.

You Are Sunshine
Written by Shirley Porter and Louisiana First Lady Alice Foster, “You Are Sunshine” is a beautifully illustrated book designed to build children’s self esteem and encourage reading to and by young children. The book is distributed free to young children throughout Louisiana and addresses some of the issues that affect a child’s self-esteem and also suggests ways that parents and caregivers can help children develop a positive self-concept.
